Drawergeeks: Angel
I've been so busy I didn't really intend to submit anything to Drawergeeks this week. Nevertheless, I found some time to scribble out this doodle, and apply just a bit of gouache for color.

E is for Elephant
It's really hard to draw a cartoon elephant and not simply copy those that have been done before. Mine's probably a mix of several, but I thought I'd differentiate it by making mine an elderly elephant. When asked what my favorite animal was, as a kid, I always said elephant. While that sort of thing becomes slightly less important as an adult, I don't think it's any less true.

Wanna buy a duck?
Just doodled this cute little duck. I don't particularly like any sort of bird, but ducks do have something interesting about them. I like this guys expression. There's something innocent about the jet black beady eyes and the expressionless beak and the way he's just staring alert. They look a little clumsy too which I guess could be endearing. The color's pretty simple, but kinda fun to do.

Monkeys and Beavers in Outer Space
If there's anything I can't stand it's when the writers of my favorite blogs suddenly seem to fall off the face of the earth. I was so proud of myself for updating so regularly, and then all of the sudden I ran headlong into a dry period. Not really. But I ended up with a lot less free time, and a lot of other work. So just for the sake of putting something up (anything) I thought I'd upload this really quick digital coloring job I did of my Buck Beaver sketch. I actually did it to be my profile icon which is why it's such a small closeup shot (blown up to monstrous size for your viewing pleasure here).
Also, my friend Dave Smith finally debuted his webcomic, Space Base 8. Check it out every day!
