Inspired by my in-laws' shitzu, Spyke. He's, um... well how can I put it. He's not the brightest crayon in the box. But he sure is a character. He also has several aliases, often inspired by the neighborhood kids mispronunciations: Spick, Sype, and Spicky Bastardo: Dog Extraordinaire.

Mad

This is my own Mad Hatter. Not based on the Disney animated version, nor on the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp version. My own! The animated Disney version is still supreme. Ed Wynn was born to play that part.

Take that Skeletor!

Little Brother plays He-Man. No matter what he's playing, be it action figures, cars, or Legos, there are always lots of explosions and consequently lots of spitting.

Preschooler

My daughter and I decided to draw together the other day. She wanted us each to draw a little girl. This is my caricature of her, or as she looked as a preschooler. She looks so innocent doesn't she? She only used this expression when she was trying to ingratiate herself to a teacher or ask me for something she wanted.

Boy, this digital painting stuff is hard. Not particularly happy with my technique on this one. I got a little more comfortable towards the end, but the whole thing is much more overworked than I wanted.

For those who missed it, this is based on a sketch I posted a little while ago. Even though I'm not 100% happy with this, I guess it's a worthwhile attempt. Gotta learn somehow.

Cheeky kid

Saw this little girl at my daughter's dance place. She had the funniest little jowly face. Not hanging jowls persay, but they were so flexible they were almost as expressive as the rest of her face.

Introducing Demi

I'm very pleased to be able to share a project I've been working on for a little while now. This is Demi.
