Another sketch, like the one from this previous post, that led to this painting.
Both of the sketches appeal to me much better than the drawing that I finally used for the cat in the painting, but the final drawing lent itself to the look I was going for in the painting much better and I'm happy with the result. Still it's interesting to see how many ways you can approach one basic pose.

A game of cat and mouse... in color!
This one has been gestating for a long time. After a week of staying up to the wee hours of the morning to work on other peoples work, I decided to take this one night to paint something just for fun. You may remember the sketch for this painting from a previous post. Well I finally took some time to develop it tonight and am pretty happy with the results.Way back when I sketched it out, I was thinking of doing it in Illustrator (once I learned Illustrator!). Then tonight I briefly considered doing it Photoshop before finally deciding to really try for an old storybook feel and do it with guoache. It was fun, but my free night is over. Back to work!

A little fox
In an effort to put more actual paintings up on my blog, I was doodling this little fox, hoping it would develop into something I could put some color to. I think it still will, but I don't have time for that yet. For now, here's just a sketch.
